Tracking Phonak Lyric

Overview

Lyric is a device that is placed in the canal of the ear. It has a battery life of 4-6 weeks and needs to be replaced often. Patients will purchase a 1-year subscription and receive free replacements during that time. This page will cover how to use Blueprint OMS to track Lyric-related activity.

Placing Lyric in Stock

  1. Click to the Inventory drop-down menu, and select Receive stock (no bill).

  2. In the Receive stock screen, click the Manufacturer drop-down menu, and select Phonak.

  3. In the Stock aid details dialog box, select the Model Lyric and Quantity. Click Ok.

                   a. Optionally, click the Location drop-down menu to adjust the stock location.


Type the first few letters of the model name to find the closest match.
If Lyric is not listed, add it to your Hearing aid catalog. To do this, see the instructions here.

4. Click into the Serial cell to enter the serial number, click into the Battery cell to select the battery size from the drop-down menu.

a. Optionally, click into the Return date cell to select the desired date from the calendar, click into the Color cell to designate the color, and click into the Notes cell to enter additional information. To save the changes, click out of the cell, or hit Enter on the keyboard.

b. The SCAN SERIAL#(S) button will automatically generate the serial number if the aid package is scanned using a barcode reader. Click Ok when the scan is completed.

5. Click SAVE.


 

The added aid(s) appear with 'In stock' status in the Inventory tab, found by clicking the Inventory drop-down menu, selecting Manage Inventory, and viewing the Inventory tab.

Adding cost to Lyric  

  1. Click the Accounting drop-down menu, and select Enter bill.
  2. In the Enter bill screen, click the Manufacturer drop-down menu, and select Phonak.
  3. In the dialog box, click the Stock items tab. Drag-and-drop or double-click the desired set of Lyric to sell. Click SAVE.
  4. In the Enter bill panel, enter the Invoice # from the manufacturer, and click the Invoice date field to select the desired date from the calendar.

    The Cost field of the Lyric should display $0.00. If necessary, click into the Cost field and change the cost to $0.00. Click out of the cell, or hit Enter on the keyboard, to save the change.


  5. Add an additional expense item by clicking on the Expense account field, within the Expense items panel, and selecting a Cost of Goods Sold:Lyric subscriptions account, or similar, from the drop-down menu. Optionally, click in the Description cell to type an item description. Click into the Cost cell to enter the yearly subscription cost. To save the changes, click out of the cell, or hit Enter on the keyboard.
  6. Click SAVE.


          

Selling Lyric

  1. Highlight the patient's name in the Patient browser or open the patient file.
  2. Click the green Sale button on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. Click the Select stock items button at the bottom of the screen.
  4. While on the Select stock items screen, drag-and-drop the items that you wish to sell into the left and/or right cells. Click Save.



5. An Enter warranty dates pop-up will appear. 

  • Optionally, adjust the warranty date using the red calendar icons. Then click Ok.

6. Click Next.

7. On the Allocate costs tab change the Lyric price to total the yearly subscription price.

8. Click Complete sale. The hearing aid or orderable item will show in received status on the patient's hearing aids tab in the ordered/delivered items section.



Replacing Lyric 

You have two options when it comes to replacing Lyric hearing aids:

Option 1:

  1. Highlight the Lyric hearing aid 
  2. R-click and select SEND FOR REPAIR
  3. Choose the repair type as Lyric Replacement. 


4. Highlight the hearing aid you sent for repair 

5. R-click and select  RECEIVE ITEM 

6. Change the serial number

7. Click SAVE


Option 2:

  1. Highlight the Lyric hearing aid 
  2. R-click and select EDIT DETAILS 
  3. Change the serial number
  4. Click Save.
  5. Create a journal entry to record the old serial number. 

Tracking Lyric patients

To track a Phonak Lyric patient, you can put them in a patient group (see: Managing patient groups) or use the service plan feature (see: Setting up service plans).
