Using Chat
Notifications
To indicate an incoming message, the bubble will flash in green five times and then remain a solid color. Click on thebubble to open the dialog box.
Any unread messages will appear with green text until viewed. To view an unread message, click on the green text.
Conversation List
If multiple conversations are in progress, there will be a list in the conversation dialog box. Click on any conversation to respond or to view the messages.
Chat conversations are stored only temporarily. They are retained if the user logs off the Blueprint OMS application, but are deleted if the application is closed completely.
Starting a new conversation
To start a new conversation, click the
button
Select a name from the user list, or use the quick find to search for a name. Optionally, click multiple names to start a group chat.
Users that are "online" are shown with bold text and a green dot beside their name.
Users that are "offline" are shown with a grayed out name and dot.

One-on-One Conversation
Click the

Select a name from the user list, or use the quick find to search for a name.

Type your message to the selected user in the lower section of the dialog.
To send the message, do one of the following:
Press ENTER or SHIFT + ENTER according to the instruction from the empty message field.
Click the
button.
Enter key behavior is set for the whole system by the clinic owner in the Setup menu. The clinic owner chooses between these two settings:
Press ENTER key to send a message and SHIFT + ENTER to create a new line.
Press ENTER key to start a new line and SHIFT + ENTER to send a message.
Group Chat
Click the
button.
Click multiple names to start a group chat. Optionally, give the group chat a topic.

4. Type your message to the selected users in the lower section of the dialog.
5. To send the message, do one of the following:
Press ENTER or SHIFT + ENTER according to the instruction from the empty message field.
Click the
